This was a re-design of my parent's church site that I did over the course of several days. I had done their original site several years before-hand, and it had become (as most years-old projects do) somewhat embarrasing to look at.

This was also the first site that I worked on after I began to learn the PHP scripting language, and as such I used only the most basic file includes and if/else statements to handle things like the site navigation and the header/footer elements. Later on, I added a very basic "control panel" of sorts, giving the ability to edit the pastor's message on the home page, as well as the announcement text and the verse in the side-bar.

Probably the most advanced portion of the site is the gallery page, where the pictures are displayed from the church’s different events. This page will automatically scan a folder for images, and will create a thumbnail for the images if one doesn’t exist already. This gallery script was further refined in the Lightning Box CMS.
